This site needs a new webmaster.  Since we (Alffie, Carrag, Pandella and Theodas) no longer play RoM and it’s likely we will not be returning to it, this site has been moved.  It’s also no longer being maintained by me (Theodas).  I’ve been keeping up with engine patches for it, but not updating content or roster.  It’s time for someone else to take it over.  Hosting is free and the engine it runs on is free, so you need not worry about costs.  You don’t even have to keep up with the way I do it, you can change anything you like.  It’s your guild now, your website.  I’ll help where I can but it’s time for someone else to take over updating the content for it.

Congratulations to Xxxsakura, Godpriest and svijetlonsoa for being selected as Commanders of the Believe Guild!

If you’ve read the previous article, you know we have some spots to fill.  We are looking to advance people into all of the positions of Commander, Major and Sergeant.  If you feel you want the part and can take the responsibilities that come with it, give us an email.  We will collaborate and decide in a couple of weeks and choose appropriately.

You all may have been wondering where Theodas, Pandella, Alffie and Carrag have been lately.  It’s because we are trying out World of Warcraft.  Yes, I know it’s a subscription game, but here’s the reasoning.  RoM is starting to get out of control.  We played RoM because it was literally free2play at one point, when you could buy diamonds out of the Auction House from players who use the Micropayment system with the gold you’ve collected.  It would take a bit longer, but could be done.

There have been times we wanted more, so we put a little money into our accounts got some stuff and started to stash away and be very careful not to over spend.

Then, the gold sellers came….  These shady bastards infiltrated the bureaucracy of the game and forced RoM to stop the trade of diamonds for gold.  This put us into a bind.  Now we have to spend money to get diamonds for puri’s, golden hammers and other stuff we use frequently that make the game easier..  And recently it’s gotten to and sometimes over the cost of 2 WoW subscriptions.  Sadly, RoM is having a hard time getting the option back to trade diamonds and gold.  Or perhaps they don’t want too as it is making them more money.  It seems that RoM is starting to fall the way of other free2play games… It has that “feel” to it. Granted, RoM can be a blast to play but things like this are hurting it.

There is also an issue with free2play that has kept players like us under the thumbnail of the people willing to invest money. “He who hath the most cash hath the best shit”.  So now it’s getting harder to get good gear as the “leet” groups are starting to rape us when they sell the good drops we can’t drop ourselves.  Again, taking away from the fun experience.

Then there’s this dual class system.  It’s becoming to the fact that people assume you only play 1 class and that you should only greed or need on items based on that.  When in reality, many of us choose to play both.  But when you go for an item that people think you shouldn’t (as it is for your secondary class), you get a load of grief over it.  One night not long ago, I was so pissed, I passed on everything then logged off over it.

Things are going down hill and picking up speed doing so.

Adding it all up, perhaps a subscription based game is the better way to go.  We’ve been discussing going to World of Warcraft.  For less than the money we spend now, we can pay for WoW.  Then we wouldn’t have to worry about things like affording special Cash Shop stuff because we all would be on a proverbially level playing ground.  Granted, those with no life will have the better gear, but perhaps that’s a lot lower group than those with loads of money.  Though after the tour I got last night, it’s very tempting for me to go.

What an amazing weekend.  Even though I missed a chunk of it, we did some incredible work as a Guild!  First, we solidified the fact we can do Hall of Survivors without any issues in Normal Mode!  Then we topped it by going from 0% to 100% in Zurhidon Stronghold in 1 run!  Out-flippin-standing!!  I want to extend a great thank you to all who was there to make it happen!  Yes, it was frustrating to learn but we did it and that’s the important part

I’m also told by Alffie that we did a 6 man Origin Run in 30 minutes flat with no deaths and only 1 take on Razor Lurker!  That’s phenomenal!

Runesdb.com has shut down and it’s probably for the best.  They never could keep the database up-to-date anyways.  So I’ve tried to go through the guild site here and remove/change any links to them in posts and on the forum.  If you find a link, let me know I’ll fix ‘er up.  I’ve also removed the link from the Guild Toolbar.

I present unto you, my fellow guildmates, my latest masterpiece!  A totally redesigned theme for our Guild.  It’s dynamic not only in the header, but the background changes as well.  It’s not without in need of a few minor tweaks here and there, but it certainly is worthy of nomination for the best damned looking Runes of Magic Fan/Guild site ever!  Now aren’t you glad we don’t have some lame ass cookie cutter website like most guilds?
